Fuck this shit.
I’m bruised from my toes to my heel. Still swollen. When I am stationary for a bit, I get extreme shooting pain when trying to walk. Example: getting out of bed in the morning, damn near collapsed from the pain. Example 2: sitting at my cubicle for an hour, stand up to get a cup of coffee, want to scream. After a few minutes it’s okay to walk relatively normally, but those first few minutes are excruciating. Range of motion remains far better than expected.
Easily the worst sprain I’ve ever had.

I’m imagining getting up from my desk at work and screaming with every step, totally disrupting the office work environment. If it weren’t for the fact that you are actually living that pain, I’d chuckle.
This is a pretty next-level sprain you seem to have. I hope that your recovery speeds up. Jeez.

Have you had an X-ray, it could be broken or a severe tendon tear.

How often have you been icing it? Are you elevating your foot when you sleep?

Wow, that is a nasty sprain indeed. Seems like it happened weeks ago. Hope it starts feeling better soon. Sprained ankles are no fun at all.

Have they got you on any kind of anti-inflammatory? (Screw painkillers, Advil is where it’s at.)

Good luck with it. Those kind of injuries can be s low to heal.

While 800mg is what’s required for anti inflammatory effect, a larger person may need slightly more for it to truly take effect. You may want to try adding another pill/tablet. Just drink plenty of water.

I’ve heard it said, and believe from personal experience, that a sprained ankle is worse than a break.
The last time I sprained mine, I had driven to rehearsal in my stick shift Cobalt. At least it was my right ankle, but was still in much pain. Literally no one else, out of the ~20 people could drive stick, so I had to drive myself home. In Chicago. It was terrible.

You can also add acetaminophen to your analgesic regimen. I’m a bigger fan of that than the opioid crap if it is enough. Midway through the ibuprofen dosage, take the Tylenol. Only bad thing is no drinking.
